EVENT RECAP

2nd Annual TAKE A SPIN WITH FRIENDS!

JOEY MOTSAY'S GUINNESS RECORD TM ATTEMPT IS AN AMAZING SUCCESS!

2:20 PM EST, September 29, 2007

After over one full week on a stationary spin bike, perched upon a 5 foot platform overlooking the fitness center he owns, cyclist JOEY MOTSAY has stepped down from his bike and will now prepare to submit his official time, video, photos and log book to Guinness World Records TM in London, England for recognition of his Guinness World Record TM setting ride.

SPONSOR JOEY'S RECORD ATTEMPT ONLINE NOW!

Donations may be made via postal mail to: FRIENDS - JOEY SPIN, P.O. Box 29524, Greensboro, NC  27429-9524.

Mr. Motsay officially eclipsed the standing longest static/spin cycling marathon record at approximately 5 AM EST on September 27, 2007 but continued cycling in an effort to raise funding for Friends For An Earlier Breast Cancer Test (www.earlier.org), the Greensboro, NC based non-profit that funds research seeking an earlier biological test for breast cancer.  Joey's effort has raised over $25,000 for Friends, exceeding last year's total in another SPIN marathon sponsored by the avid cycler.

While official witnesses are reviewing the exact calculations, it appears Joey has cycled for over 160 hours, crushing the standing record of 111 hours, 11 minutes, 11 seconds.

Although Joey indicated in many media interviews throughout the week that the first thing he would do after getting off the bike was "...get a skin graft..." as a result of sitting on the bike seat for so long, he actually retired to the back of the fitness facility and took a nap.  Mr. Motsay slept for fewer than 8 hours over the course of the week, having spent nearly 24 hours a day for over 7 days on the bike in order to set the new world record.
